Note: These calculations are based on averages. A more athletic person may require a higher caloric intake to maintain their current weight.  Individuals for weight-loss, subtract 500 (give or take) from your calories per day calculation to lose 1lb of fat per week. Keep in mind, 3500 calories equates to 1 pound of fat. Diet and fitness activity are key factors in weight loss/gain/maintenance. 


Example: If your total calories per day to maintain current weight is 2000 then you should be eating 1500 calories per day to lose 1lb of fat per week.  You can also consider including how many calories you burn during your fitness activities to meet your daily total of caloric deficit needed to lose fat.
